The date of February 24, 2022, will imprint itself in the memory of every Ukrainian. This is the day when the terrible word “WAR” was heard in every corner of Ukraine, echoing the sound of sirens, explosions of missiles, and cries of indescribable pain about the losses of beloved ones!
But the Ukrainian people have overcome the fear, gathered all of their courage and fortitude, risen, and united to prove that Ukraine is a free, independent, and sovereign state that will never allow itself to be conquered! We, Ukrainians, stand up for everything that Russia, an aggressor and occupier, is meanly trying to extinguish in our hearts: the desire for freedom and a bright future for our country and our descendants! We stand for these values at the cost of broken dreams, at the cost of lost dwellings, and at the cost of our own lives.
As of today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are our powerful defense every day and night, standing guard over our security and struggle for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. They do not feel sorry for themselves and are ready to give the most precious they have – their own lives, for Ukraine to exist and be steadfast! But we should not forget that we, the civilian population, must be a reliable support and home front for our defenders.
